Happy New year!


January 1st is the epitome of a dichotomy.  It carries over as the final day of the holidays of the past year, yet is simultaneously the first holiday of the new year.  It’s the day during which one foot feels firmly secured in the vestiges of last year’s Goals Past, while the other steps suddenly and insecurely into the energy and activity of the New.


If the excitement of making New Year’s resolutions has given way to the reality of the work of realizing them, remind yourself that clearing away the cobwebs and clutter of Goals Past is simply the initially inglorious, but supremely satisfying next step toward the glorious new ones.
